Topics discussed.
Conference Specific Site - Waiting for BOD to approve/pay the $60 to godaddy.com to pay for the site hosting. Once this happens, Scott will get the domain name and load Wordpress for the site, set it, etc.
EventBrite Account
-- The email address on the account needs to be changed to an SCMG email address. Right now it's Eileen's email.
-- SCMG needs to submit the paperwork to get non-profit status established with EventBrite to get the discount from 2.5% to 2% per ticket sold.
Mocked up site - Scott putt together a very nice mocked-up/skeleton site so that we could get an idea of what he's thinking. Here's the link. It will go away, I think, once development on the actual site has started. Here's the link laketricity.net/
Header
Mike Stoy will create 2 or 3 images to pick from for the website header. We talked about creating one with the conference logo on the left side and the leaf image on the right. Sort of like the below image. Scott also suggested that another background color might look good. Also discussed removing the white text in the leaf/water drop image.
Website Implementation Schedule
-- We will shoot to have it ready for "Reserve My Place" registration on or about August 31, 2017. It will most likely happen before September 15, 2017.
-- The below attached file is a tentative schedule for website rollout phases.
Website Structure
The below file is our first cut at the website structure. It's very likely to change as we go along. The California State Master Gardener Conference site was the inspiration for this. {Note: The structure has changed. Now have a Support Us page with subpages for sponsors, advertisers and donations.}
Website Content
We will start with general content where there is not detailed info for a page. As we get more info from the committee's we will update the pages. The sooner we get content the better.
Action List
Mike
Design 2 or 3 different website headers so we can pick one.
Scott
-- Website - Once the fees are paid to godaddy.com, get it setup with template, header, menu, etc.
-- Contact Page - Talk to Sam about what contact info she wants on this page
-- Activities page & subpages - Talk to the Activities committee for page content
-- Sessions & Speakers pages & subpages - Talk the to Speaker's Committee for content. Should these two sections be combined?
-- Lodging page - Talk to Sam about content. Also need to have some links for local attractions.
Eileen
-- Call for volunteers page - talk to Judy Carter about content for the page. Implement volunteer form once we get a website set up.
-- Sponsor page & subpages - talk to fundraising committee to get content
-- Photo Contest page & subpages - investigate photo contest WordPress plugins that will allow for user online/mobile voting. Also define photo contest process for review/approval by committees.
-- Get EventBrite codes to Scott for displaying our EventBrite page on the conf. website.
