Web Page - “Call for Volunteers”.

The website team is gathering content for the 2018 NMMGC committees for the 2018 New Mexico Master Gardener website. So, we are asking the committees to provide whatever input/content they can at this time.

I'm asking all the committees for input about adding a "Call for Volunteers" page since most committees will need some volunteers either leading up to the conference and/or during the conference. One benefit I see for the webpage is that it calls out to the other NM MG charters for volunteers. This could get us more volunteers and also help encourage their involvement beyond just attending.

I’ve attached a word document with a mocked-up "Call for Volunteers" page/form to use as a starting point. My thoughts are that we can use this MS Word document forum as the starting point for developing this webpage.

I have some questions about the form in the attached document.

In your opinion:
1. Are items on that that we should remove?
2. Are there items that you think we should add?

Looks great Eileen. There are a couple spelling and grammar errors that can be cleaned up in the final version. Do you know if we are really planning on starting check-in on Friday morning? That seems a little early to me.

I'm not sure when we are going to start check-in. That's a detail that needs to be ironed out. Good catch.

At the Registration Committee meeting yesterday, Judy Carter (Chair) said that she does not want to use a Call for Volunteers webpage. She had a few reasons,

• That she is going to need to train the volunteers for the registration process. This means in person meetings before the conference. If we get volunteers from other counties, they will not be able to be part of this training.
  
• She says that a particular skill set is needed for registration volunteers, greeters, etc.

I agree, these are valid points.

I'm wondering if any other committees would want to use the "Call for Volunteers" webpage. If not we can nix it.
